I
realized
'this'
was
more
important
to
me,
then
having
lost
100lbs.
I grew up in Korea, where mochi was my comfort food and my guilty pleasure. It was also what I reached for when I didn't want to go to school the next day, which, for a kid being bullied for her weight, was most days. I was so shameful that I couldn't stop eating, instead I decided to switch my snacks to 'healthier' options.
When I finally decided to lose the weight, I did what every diet book told me to do: I swapped my comfort snacks for "healthy" ones. Protein bars. Low-calorie everything. It never worked. They tasted like punishment, so I'd end up bingeing on the real thing and hating myself for it.
I dropped out of high school and lost the 100 pounds anyway. What nobody tells you is that losing it is the short part. Keeping it off while the rest of your life catches up is the long part. I spent most of my life dieting, supplementing, over-exercising, and quietly miserable. I had spent my whole life around food and never once had fun with it.


Nothing
worked…
until
I
made

own
solution,
Sweetifi.
So I went to college to study nutrition, food science and spent total of 10 more years testing recipes for the snack I wished had existed when I was a kid.
I took the first version to a farmers market in Los Angeles and I pivoted it every weekend until it sold out. The bite got chewier. The protein got higher. The sugar disappeared. The fiber quietly climbed.
What came out the other end is Nochi: no sugar, no gluten, high protein, gut-loving fiber, and the exact chewy, satisfying texture I used to feel guilty for wanting.
Sweetifi is my dream came true, satisfying indulgence with no compromise, finally. Every bite, here at Sweetifi, is a reminder that you no longer have to choose between health and joy. This is dessert, reimagined for you rewriting your own story just like I did.
